MOAR GOATZ and other super cool things

Too much handsome in one photo.
Well, life has been toodling away. Though the doctor's appointment got me down, I know I must keep looking forward to the next thing. Which was going to be a show this weekend, but that isn't going to happen. Oh well. There is planning next week for a fun horsey week, so we shall see if that plays out.
Hello Vegas!
In other news, the goats (AKA Mr. Mayhem) had figured out how to escape the pen. So we fixed that in a hurry last night. It is now a "medium security" pen. I asked Blake what maximum security entailed, and he said electric razor wire and guards on all of the corners. Naughty goats.
Height of fence has been increased to 5ft. And now it looks hideous. Thanks, goats.
We also brought home another load of hay. The goats think that is the best game. Hay mountain! What is less amusing is them peeing all over it. Bastards. They are the most wasteful creatures I have ever met. Seriously.
Weeee giant buffet/bathroom!
Bacon and I had another dressage ride. She was certainly "up" which was the opposite of the last ride. We worked on some of the things that Aimee worked on in her clinic. She was pretty good, but tense, and never totally relaxed until the end. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures from that ride. Husband was putting hay away.
Where is my iron going?
I do know some awesome people though. You already knew this, but you don't know these people! Hubs and I went over to his work friend's house for dinner on Friday. Work friend's wife (TS) and her hair stylist/make up guru man friend (TM) had been conjuring up a mad plan to help me feel better. They handed me a card saying that they have set up a photo shoot to help me feel good again. He will cut/color my hair, go shopping with me, and set up two looks for the photo shoot. He will also be doing my hair and makeup. They really wanted to do a look with me and Bacon, so that is something I will be more comfortable with. But I have to pick two looks and that is hard.
Really? You want to take pictures of this face? Good luck. Mr. Mayhem is a better model.
So far I have come up with the obvious "equestrian look" and a rockabilly look. But, they said to push the boundaries, and perhaps pick a fun theme to do with Bacon instead of what I already own. Sooo, perhaps a 60/70's look? I don't know. If you have any fun ideas, don't be afraid to share. I will feel totally awkward with this, but they want me to feel good about myself and they are being totally generous, so we shall see how this plays out!
Cool tights? Ok.
Fun rockabilly hair? Ok.
Cool pants? Ok.

  1. That photoshoot sounds cool and definitely do the sweet dress up options. I hate dressing up, but I will totally do it for photos.

IT PUTS THE CLOTHES ON FOR THE CAMERA.

    1. My style includes Slipknot shirts, flowy shirts, breeches, and sun shirts. I'm not sure what to call that.

  6. Long time reader ( of many of these pony blogs), I was told once that if your pen won't hold water, it won't hold goats! We have found this to be completely true! We love our baby goats, but it is a good thing they are cute!

    1. Oh, I believe it! Now that they know there was a way out, I can see them plotting when I look out the window. They are not goats. They are terrorists with cute faces.

  7. aw your friends are the sweetest people ever. i love the idea of thinking outside the box and getting outside the standard comfort zone a little bit. fancy hair and makeup (and fun pants!!!!) seem like a great way to make it memorable. you could even try to go with something more fantastical or ethereal ...

  8. We have had goats on and off for the past 7-8 years ( as well as horses, chickens, ducks, rabbits, minis, you get the idea) and the saying our first vet told us was ' if your pen won't hold water it won't hold goats' and man is that true! We used 6' stud corral for our first goat pen and the bastards still found a way out. We built some really awesome play toys that they loved let me know if you would like to hear about them!

  9. That will be so fun! I think a pin-up with an equestrian twist would be awesome (a la Betty Draper in that episode of Mad Men where she rides).
