An Almighty Update

Hey there. Long time, no talk!

My absence has been due to a variety of things. There has been a lot going on, that is for sure. I will have to do a separate post for each major event, so here is a quick breakdown of what I have been up to:
Yes, I am the best at the vet. I know.
Bacon goes to vet for: Vaccines, teeth, coggins, hock and navicular bursa injections, health certificate, yadda yadda. And cha-ching. Also, all vets that have worked on Bacon in the hospital had to come tell me that they love her and think she is cool and or beautiful. That's right, they know what's up.
The sweetest and most behaved.
We say goodbye to Roxy-Moo: This was the hardest thing I have had to do in a long long time. And it was soul crushing. I have helped many dogs pass away at the vet clinic, but holding my own dog in my arms as she took her last breath was something I couldn't have prepared for.
Show jumping during the one day. AKA hauling ass through the one stride.
Schooling show in Spokane: Bacon and I schooled xc on Friday as well as a training level jumper round. Saturday we competed in the one day schooling show and jumped clean, but had a very tense test. Sunday, I watched my friends participate in a steeplechase clinic!
New doggy already enjoying her new life and wardrobe. And her ear is taped because of the crop, and the tape is just providing a little extra support for her floppy tips. Please do not harass me about her ears, I did not have the crop done, I am just continuing the taping of the tips. Thank you.
Picking up Skully: Also that weekend, I picked up my new Great Dane puppy. Well, she just turned a year old, but still, these suckers are puppies until they are at least two. And her specific lines keep growing until they are three. She is quite the character!
So shiney and beefy and fast! Maybe, a little too fast. Whoops.
Recognized Show in Spokane: Debuted this year at Novice, where I sat on a horse that was full of allergies, hormones, and lord knows what else. We ended up in the bottom of the pack in dressage, but fought our way closer to the top in the jumping phases. Even when she is being a little unreasonable, the girl can gallop and jump. But this show told me that there is something bothering Bacon, so it is back to the vet this week.
The mom and the Meatball near Swan Falls
Mother visits: My mom had her first solo visit to Idaho this past week and it was great. I wasn't sure how she was going to hold up without her oxygen tank, but she trucked along and we had some adventures. She does pretty alright for a woman who needs two new lungs most of the time. It always makes me so sad to see her go though, because I never know what is going to happen and when I will get to see her again. Hopefully soon.
How Bacon feels about life currently. And I feel about the same.
Among all of that, we have had home failures, car failures, found out a week after losing Moo that my dad's dog has bladder cancer,  and of course, my health has taken a turn as it usually does when it warms up. It really stinks when you get tired just from laughing or talking. My eyesight has also been off and on blurry, and tremors are coming back, so that has slowed the painting process down even more. So, as of now anyways, I cannot take anymore commissions in until I finish up what I have left. Those last paintings are causing me great anxiety, and I don't think I should add anymore onto it, even though I am sure Bacon's vet bill will say otherwise. Sigh.
At least my husband is cute.
So there you have it. I will do a post for each of those updates and go into a little more detail. Hopefully.
